We loved the shoutout to Haiku, but I confess, I don't know much about the form of it. You'll have to "school us."
Here's a little Ezra Pound haiku I always remembered:
"The apparition of these faces in the crowd: Petals, on a wet, black bough."
hmmm nice poem yes but not haiku
"feel free to follow along with my step by step instructions. i make haiku fun!"
five in the first line
i refer to syllables
not all that hard, ay?
seven syllables
make up the next haiku line
pretty simple right?
same for the last line
nothing new down this last road
and that's all there is
tradittionaly the first line gives either a setting or whatever else the hiaku describes, the second a description, and the third the emotion or continued description.
